Francesco Negro

Francesco Negro is Emeritus Professor, formerly at the Departments of Medicine and of Pathology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland. After obtaining his MD from the University of Turin, Italy, he was Assistant Professor at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Rockville, MD, USA, before joining the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the NIH. He then moved to the University Hospitals of Geneva, Switzerland, where he became Full Professor in 2014, focusing his research on the metabolic alterations induced by HCV, and on epidemiology and public health issues related to viral hepatitis. He is member of the Governing Board of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), and member of several panels of viral hepatitis guidelines for EASL and WHO.
